Moving-Day Signatures in Move Planner: Read the Record Before You Sign
Understand what a moving-day signature records, how later changes are shown and why a drawn signature is not proof of identity.
In this guide
A moving-day signature should relate to a record you can read, not an unexplained box on a phone. In our private Move Planner and Movers Pro preview, collection, delivery and final sign-off records are connected to the move. The important question is what the screen says you are confirming.
Read the stage and item details
Collection and delivery are different events. Check which one is on screen, the item descriptions, quantities, condition information and any recorded exception. Ask the crew to explain unclear wording before signing.
Do not assume that a signature means only “the crew arrived”. Read the statement. If the record does not describe what happened, ask for the correct information to be shown. Do not agree to an inaccurate statement because the team is busy.
A signed copy should stay identifiable
The preview stores a fixed copy of the signed record and identifies later differences. For example, renaming an inventory item after collection should not silently rewrite the description in the signed copy. Its printable moving document can show the signed information and subsequent changes.
That history is useful for understanding what was recorded at the time. It is not a determination of legal responsibility. A drawn signature also does not prove the signer’s identity; the record should not be described as proof of identity.
Stale screens need a fresh review
An item record can change while an older screen is open. The preview refuses a signature submission against an out-of-date version and presents the updated information to be reviewed again. Read the new record rather than repeating the earlier signature automatically.
Keep exceptions specific. “Two boxes not delivered” is more useful than “problem with delivery”. Our damage and missing-belongings guide explains the supporting records to retain if a complaint is needed.
Final sign-off is another decision
Customer final sign-off should reflect your review of the moving-day record. If you disagree, follow the available dispute route and keep your explanation. A final signature is not a substitute for checking the firm’s terms or obtaining advice about a dispute.
Review your paperwork while details are still clear. Keep relevant receipts, photographs and messages, and check the firm’s reporting process. Do not assume that leaving a note inside an app automatically satisfies every contractual reporting requirement.
Pricing and availability
Move Planner, and the matching Movers Pro workflow for firms, are in private preview and not yet open to the public. Households and removal firms can contact us for pricing and availability.
Does the app guarantee that signed information is true?
No. It records agreement and keeps an identifiable signed copy. Accurate information, an appropriate signer and proper review still matter.
